Another Christmas over and done with. All I can say is that it was an active one. Mainly because of the dog. As lovely as Keeta is, her love of food surpasses my own, making her a dangerous beast indeed. She will be nearly three this year and is no less head strong than when we got her. The greatest, or perhaps worst, thing about her is that she is smart. Incredibly so. I’m talking velociraptor smart. She can be disobedient, usually when other people outside the immediate family are around. It is the same way when a child acts up with visitors. She shows off in other words. Which makes it hard to tell her to sit in the corner. Hell, I would be bored sitting in the corner all day. I don’t help the situation. I like to let her run around and put her paws on the counter. I think it’s incredibly sweet. But when there is a turkey that is rightfully mine to gobble up, Keeta needs to know what the pecking order is. Who am I kidding, when Gran dropped half the turkey on the floor later that evening I didn’t lift a finger to stop her from gulping it down her. I did what any unhelpful male on Christmas day would do and just laughed. What made it so funny was everyone screaming “STOP HER!”

I love that dog to bits. I probably would let it sleep in my bed if she didn’t have that dog smell. And if my parents weren’t so highly strung. I used to be a cat man, but Keeta appreciates every bit of affection you give her and gives it right back. And when you are down? She can tell and tries to cheer you up. So a drink to you Keeta! Making Christmas with the rest of the bloody family tolerable, and even a little mental.

Besides, you remind me of me…
